About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse to fill the role of a Nurse Leader. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or within the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) system. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain leadership experience and coordinate nursing services for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring high-quality care and support.
The annual base salary range is $95,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff within OPWDD programs, including residential facilities, day programs, and community-based services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess the health needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and develop individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, policies, and standards of care related to nursing services and healthcare delivery
- Oversee medication management processes, including medication administration, monitoring, and documentation
- Conduct nursing assessments, health screenings, and health education sessions for individuals with developmental disabilities and their support teams
- Develop and implement policies, protocols, and procedures to promote health, safety, and well-being within OPWDD programs
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, addressing complex medical needs, challenging behaviors, and crisis situations
- Coordinate with external healthcare providers, specialists, and consultants to address the medical and behavioral health needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance activities related to nursing services
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, program administrators, families, and regulatory agencies to facilitate communication and collaboration
Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or within the OPWDD system strongly preferred
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, policies, and best practices related to nursing services and developmental disabilities
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to person-centered care, dignity, and respect for individuals with developmental disabilities
