About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pain Management Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our client’s growing healthcare team in Suffolk County, NY. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive pain management services to patients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients with chronic pain conditions
- Collect and analyze patient medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests
- Develop personalized and evidence-based treatment plans for pain management, integrating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care
- Prescribe and manage medications for pain relief, considering the patient’s overall health and potential side effects
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens based on patient response and treatment goals
- Perform or assist in various interventional pain procedures, such as injections or nerve blocks, as part of the comprehensive pain management strategy
- Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
- Provide clear and understandable instructions on medications, potential side effects, and self-care measures
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing questions, concerns, and providing ongoing support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of pain management services
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in pain management and integrate evidence-based practices into clinical care
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current NY licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required
- Pain management (or related) experience preferred
- Proficiency in performing interventional pain procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong collaborative and team-oriented approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse healthcare team
