About the Opportunity
We are partnered with an Investment Management firm that is in search of a skilled Payroll Specialist for a long-term temporary position. This role involves active participation within a team setting, dedicated to facilitating payroll operations for both American and expatriate staff members, totaling over 2,000 employees, in a dynamic and fast-paced work atmosphere. Reporting directly to the Americas Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing bi-monthly payrolls for the United States and Puerto Rico using Workday, while also coordinating with an external vendor for Canadian payroll processing.
The base pay for this position is $50 to $85 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Process bi-monthly payroll for the United States and Puerto Rico using Workday
- Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Compensation teams to gather and transmit essential data for payroll processing
- Prepare and input data into Workday (EIBs) as necessary
- Generate audit reports and conduct reconciliations to facilitate payroll validation and finalization
- Work with our third-party vendor to manage bi-monthly payroll for Canada
- Prepare vendor data input forms (Flexi-forms), verify gross to net reports, and conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Monitor and manage integrations to and from third parties, ensuring accurate and timely data transmission (e.g., 401K, Flexible Spending, GL)
- Oversee the time and attendance process, following up with employees as required
- Prepare quarterly tax reconciliations, company registrations, and clawback adjustments
- Process off-cycle terminations and final payments in compliance with state regulations
- Assist in new hire onboarding payroll tasks, including auditing employee state/local setup and addressing employee inquiries
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll matters
- Participate in various ad-hoc and routine projects and requests as necessary
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or another business-related field
- 7+ years experience processing multi-state payroll in a complex business environment
- Experience using Workday Payroll
- Technical knowledge of state and federal tax regulations
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
