Pediatric Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client’s team in Westchester County. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescents admitted to our client’s pediatric inpatient unit. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adolescent patients with acute and chronic illnesses.

The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of adolescent patients upon admission, including physical, psychosocial, and developmental assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessments, physician orders, and interdisciplinary team input
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols and physician orders
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Provide education and support to adolescent patients and their families regarding their health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care
  • Participate in daily rounds, case conferences, and care team meetings to discuss patient progress, goals, and discharge planning
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, implementing appropriate interventions and communicating effectively with the healthcare team
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for adolescent patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, promoting patient safety and quality of care

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Previous clinical experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred
  • New grads are welcome to apply!
  • Experience working with adolescents with acute and chronic illnesses, mental health disorders, and complex care needs
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills
