About the Opportunity
Our client is a global Fintech company in search of a Revenue Accountant with solid experience to join their accounting team in New York City. Their 10 offices serve both buy-side and sell-side institutions across the global market. The right individual in this role will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues from different parts of the world to take this fast-growing company to the next level!
The base pay for this position is $40 to $55 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer. Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer agreements to understand invoicing terms and revenue
recognition treatment - Prepare invoices in accordance with contract terms and customer requirements
- Review aged receivables and lead collection efforts
- Process cash collections
- Research and answer customer or account director questions as it relates invoicing and
collections - Recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606 ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and reconcile deferred and accrued revenue accounts
- Perform month-end processes
- Assist with interim review and annual audit
- Review sales & use tax and assist with filings and returns
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on US GAAP and financial reporting
- Public experience, or experience working with external auditors, is a big plus
- Ability to independently identify issues and present solutions
- Proficiency in Excel is required
