About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading SaaS provider of real-time trading, portfolio, and risk management solutions for the global capital markets. They are looking for a temporary Revenue Accountant who has solid experience of revenue accounting to join the growing accounting team in their NYC office.
The base pay for this position is $40 to $55 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer agreements to understand invoicing terms and revenue recognition treatment
- Prepare invoices in accordance with contract terms and customer requirements
- Review aged receivables and lead collection efforts
- Process cash collections
- Research and answer customer or account director questions as it relates invoicing and
- collections
- Recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606 ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and reconcile deferred and accrued revenue accounts
- Perform month-end processes
- Assist with interim review and annual audit
- Review sales & use tax and assist with filings and returns
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on US GAAP and financial reporting
- Public experience, or experience working with external auditors, is a big plus
- Ability to independently identify issues and present solutions
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to details
- Highly motivated, professional, and hard working
