About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their Women’s Reintegration and Justice Support Program located in Brooklyn, New York. This role involves providing comprehensive support to women recently released from incarceration, focusing on their successful reintegration into the community and addressing barriers to stability. The Social Worker will use their expertise to conduct casework, advocate for clients, and connect them with essential services, with a particular focus on those who have experienced homelessness or housing instability.
The annual base salary starts at $50,000 – $60,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments
- Develop and implement personalized care plans that address immediate needs and long-term goals, including housing stability, employment, and health care
- Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings
- Conduct outreach to recently incarcerated women to engage them in the program and provide initial support and orientation
- Provide education and support in life skills areas such as budgeting, conflict resolution, and daily living skills to promote independence and stability
- Coordinate access to healthcare services, including mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and primary care
- Facilitate connections to employment services, training programs, and job opportunities
- Assist clients in securing safe and stable housing
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute challenges, ensuring they have access to emergency services and stabilization resources
- Work closely with other program staff, community organizations, and service providers
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution required
- Licensed Master Social Worker preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in casework or social services, particularly with populations who are recently incarcerated or experiencing homelessness
- Understanding of issues faced by women reintegrating from incarceration, including legal, social, and economic challenges
