About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established non-profit healthcare organization committed to providing accessible and high-quality medical care to the community. The organization offers convenient services for individuals seeking prompt medical attention for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their Walk-In Clinic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages with acute health concerns on a walk-in basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and evaluations of patients presenting with a variety of acute medical conditions, including but not limited to minor injuries, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and skin conditions
- Perform thorough physical examinations, order diagnostic tests as appropriate, and interpret laboratory and imaging results to formulate accurate diagnoses
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with patients, addressing their immediate healthcare needs and providing education on preventive care measures
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and referrals to specialists as necessary, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards
- Administer vaccinations, wound care, and minor procedures within scope of practice, maintaining proficiency in clinical skills and techniques
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record system, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction surveys, and interdisciplinary meetings to enhance the delivery of care and patient experience
- Collaborate with medical assistants, registered nurses, and other support staff to streamline clinic workflows and maximize efficiency
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program from an accredited institution
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York
- Board certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency medicine preferred
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing acute illnesses, and managing common medical conditions across the lifespan
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
