About the Opportunity:
Join our team as an X-Ray Technologist, providing expert radiographic imaging services to patients. This part-time contract position requires working weekends, with shifts Friday from 10:30 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The role includes on-call duties, callbacks, and holiday coverage as needed. X-Ray Technologists verify patient identities, review physician orders, operate x-ray equipment, and produce high-quality diagnostic images.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $55.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient identity verification and physician order review before procedures.
- Use x-ray equipment for radiographic imaging of bones, tissues, and organs.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their inquiries.
- Position patients appropriately, supporting those with limited mobility.
- Operate radiologic equipment safely while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Monitor patient status and fulfill age-specific needs.
- Produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
- Report malfunctioning equipment promptly to management.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems accurately.
- Maintain precise record-keeping and ensure correct image transfer to PACS.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS license or ability to obtain one prior to starting.
- 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
- Proficiency with c-arm/o-arm usage in the past 8 months.
- Recent OR experience.
- Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
