About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant who provides essential support to our clinical team, ensuring high levels of patient care and satisfaction within a team-based environment. The role involves handling a variety of clinical duties that contribute to dental office operations. This part-time contract position demands excellent customer service and communication skills.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator, providing valuable information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing, delivering, and positioning instruments for the dentist's access.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in patients' mouths.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, and managing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining certifications and supplies.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services in patient records.
- Protect patient and employee health by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Six (6) hour x-ray training certification.
- CPR card.
- Preferred: Nitrous oxide certification; Coronal polishing certification.
