About the Opportunity:
As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, assist oral surgeons and other clinical staff with complex procedures, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation cases. This position is a part-time contract opportunity, ideal for individuals who thrive in hands-on, surgical settings and are passionate about patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons with surgical procedures including extractions, dental implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, operatory, and sterilization areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Monitor and reassure patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Take and process dental radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified).
- Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Manage surgical inventory, prepare surgical trays, and order supplies as needed.
- Support sedation and anesthesia setup (IV or nitrous) and recovery process under supervision.
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient experience.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- X-Ray certification with 1-2 years of experience.
- Minimum one (1) – two (2) years of dental assisting experience.
- Oral surgery experience.
- IV sedation and Nitrous Oxide experience highly recommended.
