Non-Clinical – Health and Information Management – Quality and Patient Safety Specialist

About the Opportunity:

This full-time contract position as a Joint Commission Tracer in New York, NY involves facilitating ongoing hospital-wide compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH requirements. The role includes actively participating in continuous readiness activities, serving as a subject matter expert to assess compliance, collaborating with various departments to implement standardized processes, and facilitating development and monitoring of corrective action plans. The position requires working on various campuses as needed.

The estimated base pay for these positions are $49.50 to $58.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hospital-wide continuous readiness activities to facilitate compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH requirements.
  • Provide expertise in assessing compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with departments to implement standardized processes for accreditation and regulatory activities.
  • Monitor and document completion of corrective action plans, data measurement, and analysis.
  • Synthesize complex information for operational and senior leaders and identify areas of risk.
  • Review and interpret departmental data and monitoring tools to measure standards compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between hospital leadership and surveyors.
  • Design and deliver educational trainings related to accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in hospital regulatory programs in various roles including survey escort and tracing activities.
  • Maintain a central repository of hospital survey activity and provide reports to leadership.
  • Engage in various committees, work groups, or task forces as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare-related roles and quality assurance experience.
  • Hospital healthcare experience essential.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH requirements.
  • 3+ years experience in project management.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in managing and interpreting data.
