About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy/Gastroenterology (GI) department. Responsibilities include answering patient questions and addressing concerns, observing patient vital signs, sedating patients before procedures, and recovering patients afterward. Perform administering necessary medications, completing documentation including patient notes and discharge documents, and preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures. Tasks also include cleaning and sterilizing equipment, assisting doctors throughout the procedure, and administering IV drips.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $55.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans.
- Providing education on endoscopy and GI procedures.
- Collaborating with doctors and healthcare staff to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress during procedures.
- Staying informed on the latest endoscopy and GI practices.
Job Requirements:
- Valid NY RN license.
- BLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
- ACLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
- Minimum 2 years of previous endoscopy procedure experience.
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification skills required.
- Proficiency in conscious sedation and expert IV insertion.
- Experience in recovering patients from general anesthesia.
- Experience in performing intake for GI procedures.
