About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position focuses on providing specialized care to patients within an ICU Stepdown unit. The Level II Registered Nurse adheres to clinical practice standards to ensure competent care, incorporating service excellence, professional development, and evidence-based practice. Responsibilities include potential roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member duties.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $50.60 to $59.80 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing care plans.
- Providing critical care and support in the ICU Stepdown unit.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and outcomes.
- Staying informed on practices related to stroke, neurosurgery, and telemetry.
Job Requirements:
- RN License (NY License only).
- Two years of experience in stepdown or PCU settings.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience.
- Telemetry experience required.
- Experience with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, sub-dural drains, 3%NS and cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coil/clips, DBS insertion, VP shunts, seizures.
- ACLS certification preferred (American Heart Association).
- NIHSS certification preferred.
