About the Opportunity:
This opportunity involves providing specialized care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), particularly for patients with common diagnoses such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory issues like COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. This is a full-time contract position based in Utica, NY. The role requires handling specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, A-lines, Bipap, and chronic ventilators, with respiratory therapists available to assist. The unit caters to patients aged 18 years and above, with a total of 64 beds, including 15 designated for neuro patients.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $52.25 to $61.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and creating personalized care plans.
- Providing specialized therapy and education based on patient needs.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress accurately in EPIC EMR system.
- Staying informed on current practices in neuro, cardiac, and respiratory care.
Job Requirements:
- Current RN license with active NY registration; NURSYS report verification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings, including travel experience.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Experience with EPIC EMR system.
