About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The role involves providing specialized care to patients with common diagnoses such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions including COPD, DKA, sepsis, and more. The RN collaborates with healthcare professionals to manage care involving specialty equipment like temp pacers, chest tubes, A lines, and Bipap. The position requires experience in managing chronic vents with respiratory therapy assistance.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $49.88 to $58.95 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.
- Provide care utilizing specialized equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, and Bipap.
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists for managing chronic vents.
- Monitor and document patient progress thoroughly.
- Stay informed on current practices and research in intermediate care.
Job Requirements:
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
- Active NY RN license with verification through NURSYS.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
