About the Opportunity:
This contract position gives Registered Nurses the opportunity to provide compassionate and expert pediatric care to patients in a dynamic environment. This full-time role involves working 10-hour days with variable start times and may require rotation to Pre-Op or PACU settings. Responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, performing pre- and post-operative assessments, and providing continuous patient education and support.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $53.35 to $63.05 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting pre-operative assessments and creating comprehensive care plans.
- Providing patient education and support for post-operative care.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and pharmacy to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress in Epic charting system.
- Assessing airway management and providing necessary interventions.
- Administering medications and managing pain relief options including PCA pumps.
- Utilizing advanced skills such as central line care and arterial line management.
- Staying informed on latest pediatric care practices.
Job Requirements:
- Current CA RN License.
- AHA BLS and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in pediatric or similar settings.
- Travel experience and ability to float to other UCSF facilities.
- BSN required for all RN positions.
- Preferred certification in CPAN.
- Experience with Level I Trauma Centers required.
- Teaching hospital experience required.
