About the Opportunity:
Provide specialized care to pediatric patients in the Hematology Oncology department, administering chemotherapy, blood components, fluid/electrolyte replacements, and oncology treatments. Assess patient conditions, manage side effects, and offer emotional support to patients and their families. This is a full-time contract position in a fast-paced setting with a focus on pediatric cancer diagnoses. The role requires strong prioritization skills when managing a patient-to-nurse ratio of primarily 3:1, with potential fluctuation to 4:1 for med/surg patients.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $52.25 to $61.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized care plans for pediatric HemOnc patients.
- Administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatments.
- Stay informed on pediatric Hematology Oncology practices and advancements.
Job Requirements:
- APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status with PALS and BLS certification.
- Minimum 18 months of experience in an acute and chronic care setting with solid oncology experience.
- Required flu vaccination, no exemptions available.
- Strong prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
