About the Opportunity:
This part-time contract position as a Certified Surgical Technician involves performing nursing activities of a technical nature for surgical patients in the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Candidates adhere to department, Division of Nursing, and hospital policies and procedures while ensuring optimal surgical care.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $41.25 to $48.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct sterile preparation and handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Provide assistance during surgical procedures to the surgical team.
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesiologists for coordinated patient care.
- Monitor and document patient status and surgical outcomes.
- Stay informed on advances in surgical techniques and instrument sterilization.
Job Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED (required).
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the Association of Surgical Technologists or Surgical Technician by the National Board of Surgical Technician & Surgical Assisting (required).
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience in a surgical setting (required).
- Knowledge of Perioperative Nursing Practice and Patient Care (required).
- Skills in aseptic technique, equipment documentation, instrument processing, and universal protocol procedures.
