About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Psychiatry unit, where you provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. Engage in conducting intake assessments, planning and administering nursing care, and making nursing diagnoses to recommend treatment options. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design individualized treatment plans. Ensure the effective administration and documentation of psychotropic drugs and other medications. Maintain a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients, and assist patients in understanding and accepting the need for treatment. This is a full-time contract position with rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and charge duties according to unit needs.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $44.00 to $52.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
- Make nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
- Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including vital signs and treatments.
- Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician’s written orders.
- Perform administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes.
Job Requirements:
- CPI Certification.
- Valid NY License.
- BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting.
