About the Opportunity:
The RN Psych position supports the psychiatric emergency room by conducting intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history. This role involves planning and providing nursing care, making nursing diagnoses of the medical and emotional status of patients, recommending treatment options, and consulting with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients. It is a full-time contract position at a Level 1 facility. The estimated base pay for these positions are $44.00 to $52.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts intake assessments and creates care plans.
- Administers and monitors reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
- Assists clients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results.
- Provides courteous, high-quality service by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals.
Job Requirements:
- NY License.
- BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY.
- Minimum 2 years experience.
