About the Opportunity:
This is a registered nurse position in a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department (ED) that manages more than 100,000 visits a year. It is one of the busiest trauma centers in the country and the only Level I trauma hospital in the area. Nurses treat a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses and are responsible for the care of med/surg boarder patients within the ED, maintaining a 1:5 patient ratio with assistive personnel. This is a full-time contract position with rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, holidays, on-call duties, and weekends as needed. No ED experience is required.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $50.60 to $59.80 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing care to med/surg boarder patients within the ED.
- Collaborating with assistive personnel to ensure patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress.
- Staying informed on current medical practices and research related to trauma and emergency care.
Job Requirements:
- NYS RN License.
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Telemetry experience.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred but not required.
