About the Opportunity

We are working with the CFO of a unique ~$2B Hedge Fund on a new role for their team in Greenwich, CT. This position focus on core accounting and operations for the fund. They have an upbeat company culture with a hybrid working schedule. The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Fund’s Controller and Fund Administrator to manage the monthly NAV process, including maintaining shadow books and reviewing reconciliations, trial balances, and investor allocations and statements
  • Handle the complexities of fund structures such as side pockets, investment SPVs, and various share classes across different feeder funds, ensuring meticulous attention to detail
  • Engage in the valuation process by reviewing broker quotes and internal models and coordinating with analysts
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including ADV, Form PF, 13F, and 13D/G forms
  • Support the management company’s accounting needs
  • Assist the Fund’s Controller in managing and preparing audit documentation, facilitating communication between the fund administrator and auditor
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements
  • Support the preparation of K-1 and tax return documents, coordinating efforts with tax preparers
  • Conduct analyses to support tax and audit processes
  • Aid the Controller and Head of Marketing and IR in preparing quarterly investor materials such as marketing presentations and DDQs
  • Review capital activities and investor documentation
  • Oversee daily cash and position reconciliations with multiple prime brokers and trading partners across various asset classes, and address discrepancies by investigating issues with prime brokers, such as reviewing corporate actions and interest calculations

 

Job Requirements

  • 6-14 years of accounting experience focused on hedge funds or investment companies
  • Preferred background in both public and private accounting
  • BA/BS degree (CPA preferred)
  • Proficient in hedge fund accounting and familiar with multiple asset classes (e.g., options, swaps, fixed income)
  • Detail-oriented with strong Excel skills
