About the Opportunity
Our client is a publicly-traded mortgage REIT in New York City that is looking for a VP of Financial Reporting to join their team. They are growing very quickly, as they also own 8 subsidiary companies and have 13 joint ventures across the US. The company is looking for someone who is interested in having a seat at the table and forming relationships across the different divisions. This is a high-visibility role with a lot of opportunities for growth and advancement.
The annual base salary range is $175,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Be responsible for assisting in the timely preparation of SEC financial reporting and disclosure requirements including, but not limited to, Forms 10-K and 10-Q and related earnings call supplements and investor decks
- Be responsible for assisting in the coordination with external auditors, executives, legal and investor relationships for the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports
- Be responsible for the preparation of ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Oversee various aspects of internal and external audit exams, particularly those areas concerning financial accounting and reporting
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in Accounting or Finance) is required
- MBA or an advanced degree strongly preferred
- CPA license required
