Director of Clinical Operations – Gastroenterology Services

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee the strategic, operational, and financial performance of a growing GI service line within our client’s respected acute care hospital in Yonkers. This leadership opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive teams to drive program growth, enhance patient access, improve quality outcomes, and strengthen clinical operations. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of Gastroenterology services while leading initiatives that improve the patient experience and support organizational success.

The annual base salary range is $185,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Gastroenterology service line across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Improve patient access, scheduling efficiency, workflow optimization, and operational performance
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to improve clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational success
  • Foster collaboration between clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Create and execute strategic initiatives that support service line growth and long-term organizational goals
  • Evaluate market trends and identify opportunities to expand GI programs and specialty services
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on business planning, service expansion, and operational priorities
  • Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Monitor productivity, revenue, expenses, and resource utilization while identifying opportunities for operational improvement
  • Assist with business development initiatives that support sustainable program growth
  • Evaluate service line performance and recommend strategies that improve financial outcomes
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety and clinical performance
  • Monitor quality metrics, accreditation standards, and performance benchmarks
  • Support continuous process improvement through data analysis and evidence-based practices
  • Serve as a trusted leader who promotes accountability, communication, and organizational values

 

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree required (MHA, MBA, MSN, or related healthcare field)
  • 5-7+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • Experience managing clinical operations, ambulatory practices, hospital service lines, or procedural specialties
  • Previous experience in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Digestive Health, Surgery, or another procedural service line strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading physician partnerships, operational improvement initiatives, financial management, and strategic planning
  • Experience with budgeting, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and program development
