About the Opportunity
Our client is a small real estate credit fund and REIT, and they are in search of a Financial Reporting professional to join their team in New York City. The fund is preforming well, raising money, and acquiring other REITs, so there is strong career growth opportunity. The company boasts a fantastic work culture, and the team is high quality, tenured, and tight-knit. They work in the office 2 days per week, and remotely 3 days per week. They also offer excellent flexibility to get the job done when it works for you. The hiring manager is the Director of Financial Reporting.
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Be responsible for drafting of the Company’s SEC filings including SEC Form 10-Q, 10-K, Proxy Statement and 8-K
- Review XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes prepared by third-party vendor
- Review private fund financial statements
- Prepare debt compliance package
- Prepare disclosure checklists and maintain proofing checklist
- Assist with assessing the impact of changes to accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements
- Assist with implementing new accounting standards and drafting the related disclosures
- Work with auditors and external counsel to facilitate the quarterly review and annual audit
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 4-6 years of SEC reporting experience
- CPA is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and other applications, such as Excel and Word
- Experience with Workiva is a plus
- Ability to balance and prioritize critical responsibilities to meet all necessary deadlines timely
