About the Opportunity
Our client is an infrastructure platform in Stamford, Connecticut that is changing / supporting the expansion of global energy production for strategic initiatives in developed and developing countries. Due to a recent transaction, a new company was formed and they are seeking a Senior Accountant to fill a brand new position within. This role will support the CAO and Director of Accounting, and have the opportunity to work with the Executive team as the company continues to grow and win new business building out the accounting and finance infrastructure. The company is backed by one of the major investment firms and they have revenues north of $500m with an EIBTA of 50% revenue. Many of the customers are countries which issue government contracts in the 10-20 year range. The position will have oversight of accounting, reporting, expense management, acquisition integrations, managing the audit, shareholder requests and other projects.
The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable process which includes bill entries, set-up new vendors, record and initiate payments, review expense reports and credit card transactions, and prepare 1099s
- Ensure all invoicing is done timely and accurately with focus on collections and interactions with customers and vendors
- Assist with treasury and cash management functions such as entering bank wire payments and transfers, preparing weekly cash flow forecasts, and customer accounts receivable dashboards
- Ensure account analysis and reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner for accounts such as cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals
- Maintenance of general ledger and journal entry postings for cash, prepaids, payroll, fixed assets (including depreciation/amortization), and accruals
- Participate in the accounting monthly close process
- Maintain a high level of internal controls
- Support the team on gathering information for external auditor requests
- Handle special projects and hands-on ad hoc requests outside the day-to-day operations
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience, a plus
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting is required
- Certified Public Accountant, a plus
- Experience with clients in the service industry (maritime industry a plus)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communications skills (oral & written)
