About the Opportunity:
The RN, Cardiac role involves providing specialized cardiac care and surgical assistance to patients. This full-time contract position requires expertise in assisting with chest exposure and closing, as well as performing vein harvesting for CABG procedures. It involves a schedule of 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as needed. The position prefers candidates with the ability to first assist in DaVinci robotic cases and experience in scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart cases, minimally invasive procedures, and heart failure cases. Experience with heart transplants is preferred.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $82.50 to $97.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting patient assessments and creating care plans for cardiac surgical patients.
- Providing intraoperative assistance, including chest exposure and vein harvesting.
- Collaborating with surgical and perioperative team members to coordinate care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress throughout the surgical and recovery process.
- Staying informed on the latest practices in cardiac surgery and hospital protocols.
Job Requirements:
- NYS RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- CNOR certification.
- Telemetry skills.
