About the Opportunity:
This role involves providing expert cardiac care as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in the Cardiac Operating Room. Responsibilities include assisting with chest exposure and closing, as well as independently performing vein harvesting for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABGs). While it is preferred, it is not required to first assist in DaVinci robotic cases or to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases including CABGs, structural heart cases such as Bentall, minimally invasive procedures like Mini Aortic Valve Replacement, and heart failure cases including Impella. Experience with heart transplants is preferred. This is a full-time contract position with work primarily on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as needed by the unit.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $68.75 to $81.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct chest exposure and closing procedures.
- Independently perform vein harvesting for CABGs.
- Collaborate with surgical teams for various cardiac operations.
- Monitor and document patient progress during and post-surgery.
- Stay informed on current cardiac surgical techniques and practices.
Job Requirements:
- 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- New York State RN license.
- CNOR certification.
- Experience with telemetry.
