About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position in the Emergency Department involves providing acute care services to a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include managing common diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The role requires effective use of specialty equipment and medications to stabilize and treat patients effectively.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.43 to $60.78 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for emergency department patients.
- Administer and monitor specific medications, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation agents.
- Utilize specialty equipment such as rapid infusors and Arctic Sun.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress in the electronic medical record system, EPIC.
- Stay informed on the latest emergency nursing practices and protocols.
Job Requirements:
- Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department environment with pediatric exposure.
- Travel experience required.
- Active NY RN license with NURSYS report verification.
- Proficiency in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Charge capability is highly preferred.
- Ability to float as required.
