About the Opportunity:
The RN position in the Observation Unit focuses on caring for adult patients who require additional observation to assess whether their conditions necessitate hospital admission or if they can be treated and released safely. This full-time contract position occurs in a fast-paced environment, managing the turnover of 20 to 27 patients daily, with an average stay of 27 hours. The unit operates with 24/7 provider coverage, handling a diverse adult population that includes both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $50.60 to $59.80 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for patients under observation.
- Provide care for a diverse adult population requiring short stays or full admissions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress.
- Stay informed on best practices and protocols in the observation unit.
Job Requirements:
- RN License (NY License ONLY).
- Two years of Med/Surg Experience.
- Telemetry proficiency.
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- ACLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
- NIHSS Certification (Preferred).
