About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our client’s women’s health team in Astoria, Queens. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women’s health, with a passion for providing comprehensive care to women throughout their lifespan. As an NP, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide primary and specialized care to women, including routine gynecological exams, prenatal and postnatal care, family planning, and menopause management
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients, addressing their unique needs and health goals
- Educate patients on reproductive health, pregnancy, contraception, and preventive care, empowering them to make informed health decisions
- Manage common gynecological conditions such as infections, menstrual disorders, and menopause-related issues
- Provide prenatal care, monitoring the health of both mother and fetus, and offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, and childbirth preparation
- Assist in the management of high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with obstetricians, ensuring close monitoring and appropriate interventions
- Perform in-office procedures such as pap smears, IUD insertions/removals, endometrial biopsies, and colposcopies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Job Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in NY
- Certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with specialized training in women’s health
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and advocacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
