About the Opportunity
Our client, a multisite neurology practice serving New Jersey, is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to join its specialized epilepsy team in Morris County. This role supports both outpatient visits and hospital-based care, focusing primarily on pediatric patients while occasionally assisting with adult cases when needed. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver ongoing evaluation, treatment, and follow-up for patients with seizure disorders.

The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation & Clinical Decision-Making
- Conduct detailed histories and physical examinations for new and established patients in clinic and hospital settings
- Identify abnormal findings, determine priority concerns, and outline next steps in the diagnostic or treatment process
- Order laboratory tests, imaging, or other diagnostic studies as appropriate, and interpret results within scope
Care Management & Treatment Planning
- Prescribe, modify, or discontinue medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations
- Assist with discharge planning and complete necessary summaries for hospitalized patients
Inpatient Support
- Perform routine rounds on assigned inpatients, documenting progress, concerns, and interventions
- Notify attending physicians promptly about any change in patient status or emerging clinical issues
Outpatient Clinic Operations
- Support smooth daily clinic flow by coordinating patient visits, managing follow-up needs, and ensuring continuity of care
- Provide episodic care for acute issues and long-term management for patients with chronic seizure disorders
Patient & Family Communication
- Offer clear explanations regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and expectations for care
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families to support disease management
- Communicate with referring providers and primary care clinicians as needed
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and administrative teams to support efficient care coordination
- Participate in cross-coverage for adult patients when colleagues are out or patient volume requires it
Job Requirements
- Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Interest in neurology and epilepsy care; pediatric experience is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- New graduates and experienced NPs are encouraged to apply
