About the Opportunity
Our client, a mission-driven senior care organization in the Bronx, is seeking an experienced Senior Geriatric Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW required) to provide advocacy, counseling, and case management services for older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other complex life challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate social worker who is passionate about protecting vulnerable populations, promoting dignity and safety, and supporting older adults through trauma-informed care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, healthcare systems, crisis intervention, or related advocacy programs.
The annual base salary range is $75,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide individualized counseling, advocacy, and case management services to older adults impacted by elder mistreatment or complex social needs
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized safety plans and service plans based on each individual’s circumstances
- Support clients through crisis situations by providing trauma-informed interventions and connecting them with appropriate resources
- Advocate for clients across healthcare, legal, social service, and community systems
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, legal partners, and community stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive support
- Develop and deliver educational trainings focused on elder abuse prevention, trauma-informed care, and best practices for professionals
- Maintain accurate case documentation, records, and reporting requirements
- Participate in program development initiatives and support organizational goals
- Contribute to grant reporting, program evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- Active LMSW or LCSW license
- Elder abuse prevention or elder justice programs
- Geriatric social work or senior services
- Strong knowledge of social work principles, advocacy, and client-centered care
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment
