About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Wound Care Nurse Manager in the Bronx to join our client’s Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) team in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will hold a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) or Wound Care Certified (WCC) credential and must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). This position combines clinical expertise in wound care with leadership responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to their members.
The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate wound care services for MLTC members, ensuring timely and effective interventions
- Provide clinical expertise in wound assessment, treatment planning, and management of chronic and acute wounds
- Serve as a resource for clinical staff regarding wound care best practices and advanced wound management techniques
- Manage and support a team of wound care nurses, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment
- Conduct regular case reviews to ensure quality of care and compliance with clinical guidelines
- Mentor and train nursing staff on wound care protocols, evidence-based practices, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all wound care services are documented accurately and comply with state, federal, and MLTC regulations
- Audit member records to verify appropriate wound care management and identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain and update wound care policies and procedures as needed
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and home health aides, to optimize care plans for members with complex wound care needs
- Partner with case managers and clinical teams to coordinate member care and improve health outcomes
- Act as an advocate for MLTC members, ensuring access to appropriate wound care resources and services
- Educate members and their families about wound care prevention and management strategies
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY
- Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) or Wound Care Certified (WCC) is required
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in wound care
- Prior experience in an MLTC or managed care environment is preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong clinical expertise in wound care management
- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and wound care documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations
