About the Opportunity
Our client, a global asset management firm in Manhattan, is looking to add a Payroll Manager to their team. This role will support the processing of the U.S. and International payrolls. This person will play an integral role in designing Workday payroll and participating in system testing as well as processing bi-monthly and off-cycle US payroll in Workday. They are looking for someone professional, very detailed oriented and highly organized who enjoys taking initiative. The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $180,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure the processing of multi-state and global payroll is accurate and timely
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Maintain and audit payroll information through collecting, calculating, entering, and uploading data
- Update payroll records, entering changes in exemptions, deductions, employment status, and department/division transfers
- Recommend ways to improve and automate payroll processes
- Prepare reports, compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Prepare tax documents firmwide
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and responding in a timely matter
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in end to end payroll processing
- Must have managerial experience
- Must have knowledge of Federal and State Tax regulations and laws
- Strong Excel skills are a huge plus
- Bachelor’s degree required
