About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading alternative investment firm, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their technology team. This high-impact role will support complex networks spanning multiple datacenters, offices, and global trading infrastructure—with a strong focus on Palo Alto firewall implementations. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of both network and security functions, collaborate closely across IT and business units, and drive technical projects in a dynamic, trading-focused environment. The role can be based in New York City, Miami, or Boston.
The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain connectivity between datacenters, remote offices, and trading infrastructure across a global footprint
- Implement, monitor, and maintain network appliances, with an emphasis on Palo Alto firewalls
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in production, supporting live trading environments
- Document network topology, configurations, and manage change control processes
- Collaborate across network and security teams to support both infrastructure and information security controls
- Monitor network performance with industry-leading tools and react quickly to incidents and performance impacts
- Provide on-call and weekend support as needed through a support rotation
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise-level or trading environments
- Strong experience configuring and administering Palo Alto firewall environments
- Knowledge of network and security concepts and protocols, including IPSec and TLS VPNs (Global Protect, Prisma)
- Understanding of core routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP)
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools, high-availability architectures, and change management
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and analytical skills
- Effective and calm problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations
